Facebook and Instagram Face Major Outage Worldwide

On Sunday, Facebook and Instagram faced widespread outages, impacting users across various countries. According to the internet monitoring platform DownDetector, more than 23,000 users in the United States reported issues with Facebook between 3:44 a.m. and 5:02 a.m.

ET, with complaints decreasing significantly after this period. During the same timeframe, over 18,000 users reported difficulties accessing Instagram.

Global internet watchdog NetBlocks confirmed that the disruptions were experienced internationally and clarified that the outage was not related to internet restrictions or connectivity issues in any specific country. Users attempting to access Facebook encountered an error message stating their account was “currently unavailable due to a site issue,” with a suggestion to try again “in a few minutes.”.
