Man Arrested for 11 Years of Impersonating Lawyer

Ugwumba Enyinnaya was arrested by the Police Command for allegedly pretending to be a lawyer and offering legal services for over 11 years. The arrest followed a petition from Chukwu David, who claimed Enyinnaya collected ₦650,000 in March 2026 to facilitate street naming in Ohaozara Local Government Area.
Throughout their dealings, Enyinnaya presented himself as a qualified legal practitioner. Following his arrest, police investigations uncovered evidence including a Nigerian Bar Association seal, a portrait of him in barrister's regalia, and fake Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) certificates.
Enyinnaya also had court judgments and legal documents he prepared himself. During interrogation, he admitted to not being a qualified lawyer.
The Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, CP Hope Okafor, commended the officers for their work and urged the public to verify legal credentials before engaging services. Enyinnaya has been charged to court.
