Bolaji Tunji Denies Adebayo Adelabu's Resignation Claims

Bolaji Tunji, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Power, has dismissed reports claiming that Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, has resigned from his position. Tunji described these reports as "fake news," emphasizing that Adelabu has not submitted any resignation letter.

The rumors, which circulated on social media, purportedly included a resignation letter dated March 26, 2026, allegedly written by Adelabu to President Bola Tinubu. These claims suggested that Adelabu intended to resign to contest for the governorship of Oyo State.

However, Tunji maintained that these assertions are unfounded and insisted that Adelabu remains committed to his responsibilities in the power sector. He cautioned against the spread of unsubstantiated claims that could mislead the public.

This clarification comes in the context of President Bola Tinubu's directive for cabinet members intending to contest in the next electoral cycle to resign by March 31, ensuring compliance with the Electoral Act ahead of the 2027 general elections.
