Super Falcons Defeat Lionesses 3-1 in Yaoundé

The Nigeria Super Falcons bounced back to secure a 3-1 victory against the Cameroon Indomitable Lionesses in Yaoundé, following a narrow 1-0 defeat in their first encounter. Head coach Justin Madugu made seven changes to the lineup to seek a fresh approach.

Cameroon initially took the lead in the seventh minute, but forward Chinwendu Ihezuo equalized in the 32nd minute with a powerful header from Rinsola Babajid's precise cross. Just before halftime, Babajid demonstrated her sharp instincts by converting a scramble in the box to put Nigeria ahead in the 43rd minute.

In the second half, Madugu's midfield press restricted Cameroon’s play, and captain Rasheedat Ajibade delivered a cross that Michel Alozi met with a flying header in the 64th minute, sealing the 3-1 victory. This win serves as crucial preparation for the upcoming Women Africa Cup of Nations scheduled in Morocco from March 17 to April 3.
