Super Falcons Triumph 3-1 Over Cameroon in Friendly

The Super Falcons of Nigeria achieved a 3-1 victory against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a friendly match on Tuesday night in Yaoundé. Cameroon opened the scoring in the seventh minute, briefly unsettling Nigeria, who had suffered a defeat just days prior.

However, Nigeria responded quickly, with Chinwendu Ihezuo leveling the score in the 32nd minute with a powerful header from Rinsola Babajid's cross. Babajid then scored two minutes later, capitalizing on a goalmouth scramble to give Nigeria the lead.

Head coach Justin Madugu made seven changes to the squad that lost previously, focusing on strengthening the midfield and shutting down Cameroon’s central play. In the 64th minute, captain Rasheedat Ajibade sealed the victory with a powerful header from a cross.

This match served as preparation for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3.
