Kwankwaso's Camp Denies Talks with Tinubu and APC Amid Defection Rumors

The Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has refuted reports suggesting talks with Bola Tinubu and the APC, denying any intention to defect to the ruling party. The movement's spokesperson, Habibu Sale Moham, clarified on Tuesday in Kano that Kwankwaso remains committed to his political path and is not attracted to the APC.

This denial comes amidst rumors following the recent defection of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the NNPP, triggering political tensions in the state. The Kwankwasiyya Movement has dismissed claims linking Kwankwaso to the APC as unfounded speculation, emphasizing that past engagements with the movement have not involved discussions of defection or political bargaining.

The statement concluded that the last formal meeting between Kwankwaso and Tinubu took place in January 2024, with no talks related to defection or party realignment occurring during the meeting.
