Plateau Families Protest Drunk Driving Tragedy, Seek Justice

Families of three young men involved in a tragic accident in Rayfield, Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, protested and petitioned the Inspector General of Police for justice. The accident, caused by a drunk driver, led to the amputation of two legs and paralysis of one victim.

The families demanded the driver, who had been arrested but later released on bail, to foot the victims' medical bills totaling N8 million. The driver's guardian allegedly disappeared after promising to cover the expenses.

The families described the situation as inhuman and highlighted the financial burden they now face. The victims are currently receiving treatment at Potters Specialist Hospital in Jos.
