Family and Dignitaries Commemorate 50th Anniversary of General Murtala Mohammed's Death in Kano

Family members and dignitaries converged in Kano to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of General Murtala Ramat Mohammed, who served as Nigeria's military head of state from July 1975 until his assassination in February 1976. The event, organized by the Murtala Mohammed Foundation, included a special prayer session at the Murtala Muhammad Mosque in Tudun Maliki Quarter, Kano.

The prayer session was led by Chief Imam Sheikh Kabiru Dan Taura and featured recitations from the Holy Qur'an. Attendees paid tribute to General Mohammed's leadership qualities and service to the country during his brief tenure.

Sheikh Dan Taura emphasized the importance of good deeds and the enduring legacy of late leaders like General Mohammed. Prominent figures, including Murtala's cousin Ambassador Umar Wali Ado Kurawa, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to honor the late leader's memory.
