Yobe Governor Commissions Ruga Settlement to Reduce Farmer-Herder Clashes

The Yobe State Governor has commissioned a Ruga settlement designed to reduce violent clashes between farmers and herders. The settlement, established by renowned philanthropist Alhaji Balarab Abdullahi, is fully equipped with essential social and economic infrastructure, including two-bedroom residential houses, school facilities, healthcare centers, shops, potable water supply, electricity, and a mosque.

Governor Buni initiated this project to help end open grazing practices that often lead to the destruction of farmlands. The initiative aims to integrate pastoralists into wider society, improve access to education and healthcare, and support a decent and sustainable livelihood for herders.

The project has been commended by the people of Nguru Local Government in Yobe State, Nigeria, for its potential to bring multiple benefits to the community. The governor has called on individuals to emulate the philanthropist's gesture and support peace and development initiatives.
