Farmers' Group Proposes Collaboration on Development Programme

During a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, a farmers' group proposed collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria to accelerate the implementation of the "Renew Hope Ward Development Programme," initiated by President Bola Tinubu. This programme, unveiled last year, aims to reset development plans and boost economic activities at the ward level, the lowest administrative unit in Nigeria's governance structure.

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, emphasized the importance of dialogue among government institutions and stakeholders to advance Nigeria's development agenda. The initiative seeks to address development challenges by promoting cooperation among federal, state, and local governments while involving citizens in the development process.

The Minister of State, Deborah Odoh, highlighted the critical role of agriculture in Nigeria's economy and the need for partnerships to foster inclusive economic growth. The farmers' group, led by Aliyu Abdulraheem, outlined their proposal to implement the programme at the grassroots level, utilizing digital platforms for real-time data collection and monitoring.
