Michael Fasere, the Founder and CEO of Medlitics, discusses the necessity of developing customized digital healthcare tools for Africa to tackle long-term clinical conditions. He highlights the fragmentation of healthcare delivery, where patients with chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes often lack a unified medical history, leading to delayed interventions and increased healthcare costs.

Medlitics aims to shift healthcare from reactive treatment to proactive prevention by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), remote monitoring, and digital health records into a single platform. This platform aggregates health information from various sources and analyzes longitudinal trends to detect early signs of deterioration.

Medlitics is designed as an offline-first Progressive Web Application (PWA), allowing clinicians and patients to function without constant internet connectivity. Data entered offline is encrypted and synchronized when connectivity is restored.

The goal is to identify health deterioration before hospitalization becomes necessary, addressing the unique healthcare challenges faced in Africa.
