Fashola Dismisses Presidential Ambition, Prefers Quiet Life

Babatunde Fashola, who served as Governor of Lagos State from 2007 to 2015 and later as Minister of Power, Works and Housing under former President Muhammadu Buhari, has stated he has no intention of contesting for Nigeria’s presidency. During an appearance on Beyond The Headlines on TVC, Fashola expressed contentment with his past contributions to public service and indicated he does not miss holding political office.

He emphasized that he now enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle, appreciating the simple pleasures he could not while in government. Fashola, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), remains active in political discussions through the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of Lagos APC, where he advises government officials and engages in political matters.

He acknowledged the balance between providing guidance and avoiding interference in current governance, reflecting on the privileges of his past roles and the energy required for such positions.
