Fashola Prefers Private Advice to Tinubu Over Public Critique

Babatunde Fashola, the former Governor of Lagos State and Minister of Works and Housing, expressed his preference for advising President Bola Tinubu privately instead of publicly criticizing his administration during an interview on TVC News. Fashola revealed that Tinubu had reached out to him for input on areas needing improvement ahead of the 2027 elections.

He stated, “He calls me today, and he says, ‘Today, identify one area where my administration must improve as we count down to 2027.’” Fashola emphasized that he values the private communication channel over public commentary, asserting that he has direct access to the President and has already provided advice on several issues. He dismissed the idea of blind spots in the administration, stating, “There are no blind spots in this administration.

You can’t be shouting at somebody whose ear you have.” Fashola also ruled out any presidential ambitions, expressing contentment with his current role and reflecting on his over two decades in public service.
