Fayose Set for REA Chair Inauguration, Meets Power Minister

Ayo Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, is set to be inaugurated as the chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) on August 7, 2026, at 10 am at the Maitama office of the Ministry of Power in Abuja. His appointment was made by President Bola Tinubu.

The REA board will also include Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as members and non-executive directors. Additionally, the current director general of the agency, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, along with three executive directors previously appointed, will complete the board.

In preparation for the inauguration, Fayose met with the Minister of Power, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, on Thursday, where they engaged in discussions aimed at improving the effectiveness of the REA.
