Ayo Fayose Becomes Chairman of Rural Electrification Agency

On Friday, in Abuja, Ayo Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, was inaugurated as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) by Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe. Alongside Fayose, Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar, Mr. Ilyasu Makinta, and three others were also inaugurated as members and non-executive directors, with Dr. Abba Aliyu serving as Managing Director.

Fayose expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the appointment and outlined his mission to elevate the agency by securing necessary funding for its programs. He emphasized the importance of addressing grassroots challenges in the power sector and ensuring that the benefits of electricity reach all Nigerians.

Minister Tegbe highlighted the REA's strategic role in the electricity sector, focusing on community empowerment and the implementation of the Electricity Act. He reiterated the government's commitment to enhancing governance and ensuring that power reforms positively impact even the most remote communities in Nigeria.
