Super Falcons Prepare for Cameroon Friendlies Ahead of AFCON

FC Robo players Esther Onyenezid and Favour Nkwocha have joined the Super Falcons camp in Yaoundé as Nigeria prepares for two international friendly matches against Cameroon. Onyenezid, who last featured for the Super Falcons during the two-legged friendly against Algeria in 2024, was among the first eleven players to arrive at the camp on Wednesday and participated in the first training session.

Nkwocha, a member of the national U-20 women's team, scored an Olympic goal for the Falconet in their 3-1 victory over Ghana at the WAFU B Championship last November. The friendly matches against Cameroon are part of Nigeria's preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026.

The matches come after the cancellation of a proposed four-nation tournament featuring Nigeria, Benin, Senegal, and the host Ivory Coast. The Super Falcons previously met Cameroon in a preparatory friendly ahead of last year's Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, securing a 2-0 victory at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
