FCSC's Prof. Tunji Olaopa Praises 2026 Promotion Exam Process

Prof. Tunji Olaopa, the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), inspected the 2026 Directorate Cadre Promotion Examination in Abuja, expressing satisfaction with the orderly commencement of the examination. Approximately 5,900 candidates were planned for the examination, with 5,792 successfully participating.

The examination was decentralized across six geopolitical zones to enhance accessibility for eligible officers. The Federal Capital Territory recorded the highest number of candidates due to its accessibility.

Prof. Olaopa highlighted the adoption of Computer-Based Testing (CBT) as a significant advancement in modernizing the promotion examination process, noting that 97 percent of candidates reported on time. Minor operational observations were recorded, and initial challenges with internet connectivity were addressed by providing alternative identification codes for affected candidates.

Provisions were also made for candidates with visual and physical challenges, ensuring all eligible candidates were accommodated. The CBT platform was designed to be user-friendly, with demonstration materials provided beforehand.
