Wike Backs Candidates Supporting Tinubu in FCT Elections

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), declared his intention to support only candidates who endorse President Bola Tinubu in the forthcoming FCT area council elections, set for February 21. Wike made this announcement during the 60th birthday celebration of Senator Sandi Onor in Abuja on a Saturday night.

He emphasized his unwavering support for Tinubu, stating that candidates who do not back the president would not win the elections. Wike described Onor as a credible ally and a trustworthy friend, highlighting their longstanding relationship.

The celebration featured remarks from various dignitaries, including former governors and academics, who praised Onor's contributions to society and leadership. Notably, Wike pledged N50 million towards a scholarship initiative in honor of Onor, who was born on February 14, 1966.

The event underscored Onor's impact as a historian and politician, with various speakers acknowledging his character and dedication to public service.
