CSP Nuhu Usman Appointed VCRU Commander in FCT

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), AHM Sanusi, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nuhu Usman as the commander of the newly established Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU). This decision follows directives from the Inspector General of Police to streamline tactics and operations by collapsing existing tactical units across state commands.

The VCRU aims to unify the response structure to violent crime-related incidents. SP Josephine Adeh, the command's Public Relations Officer, announced this appointment on Wednesday in Abuja.

CSP Nuhu Usman, who enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet assistant superintendent on July 9, 2012, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and has attended several professional courses, including a liaison officer program in China. Prior to this appointment, he was in charge of the Anti-Narcotics Unit at the FCT Police Command.

CP Sanusi has charged Usman to uphold the highest professional standards and ensure effective coordination in responding to violent crimes across the FCT.
