FCT Police Chief Hosts PCRC Chair, Supports VCRU Initiative

On Thursday, the FCT Police Commissioner, Ahmadu Sanusi, hosted Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, the national chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), at the command headquarters in Abuja. During this courtesy visit, Olaniyan commended the Nigeria Police Force for establishing the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), in compliance with directives from the Inspector General of Police.

He noted that this initiative would significantly enhance operational effectiveness, improve rapid response to emergencies, and strengthen public confidence in the police within the FCT. Additionally, Olaniyan reaffirmed the PCRC's commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the FCT Police Command, in achieving a safer and more secure society.

The PCRC donated 250 liters of petrol to facilitate the operations of the newly established unit. The Commissioner expressed appreciation for the PCRC's consistent support and partnership, assuring that the VCRU would operate in strict compliance with directives from the Inspector General of Police.

He urged the public to support ongoing security efforts by reporting suspicious activities to the police.
