INEC Delays FCT Elections Start Time Beyond 10 AM

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not meet the scheduled 8:30 AM kick-off for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council elections on Saturday. At 9 AM, sensitive materials had yet to leave the Lugbe Primary School, which served as the Registration Area Centre (RAC).

Security agencies were attempting to organize the situation at the Lugbe RAC center, where supervisors were seen trying to ensure the safe departure of sensitive materials to the appropriate polling units. As a result of these delays, voting did not commence until after 10 AM at the polling units in Lugbe, contrary to the 8:30 AM promise made to the electorate.
