INEC Confirms Readiness for FCT Council Elections 2026

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced its preparedness for the upcoming council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), set for February 21, 2026. In an interview, Abimbola Oladunjoy, the administrative secretary of INEC, emphasized that all essential materials have been arranged and staff training has been completed.

She noted that the commission is moving forward with the distribution of sensitive materials, which will be handled by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Oladunjoy confirmed that everything required for the elections is in place, and the commission is ready to receive non-sensitive materials.

The preparations are aimed at ensuring that the elections proceed smoothly and efficiently, with all necessary steps taken to facilitate the electoral process.
