ADC Loss in AMAC Elections Attributed to Candidate Absence

In a recent discussion on Arise Television's morning show, Sumner Sambo, the political editor, analyzed the African Democratic Congress (ADC)'s loss in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) elections. He emphasized that the absence of indigenous candidates for both the chairmanship and vice-chairmanship positions significantly contributed to the party's defeat.

The elections saw the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerge victorious in five out of six area council chairmanship positions within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Sambo pointed out that the voting patterns in the FCT and the ADC's failure to effectively campaign in villages further diminished the party's chances of success.

The APC's dominance was reaffirmed, particularly in the Gwagwalada area council, where they faced opposition from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), leaving ADC with limited influence in the elections.
