Nafiu Gombe Blames Coalition Issues for ADC's Election Loss

Nafiu Gombe, the leader of a faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), held a press briefing in Abuja to discuss the party's disappointing performance in the recently concluded 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area council elections. He blamed certain elements within the coalition for violating party processes, which he argued contributed to the ADC's defeat.

Gombe expressed disappointment with the actions of some coalition partners who operate outside the party's constitutional framework. He called for genuine members of the coalition to prioritize collective efforts over self-interest and urged them to return to various ADC ward offices across the country to strengthen the party's structure.

Gombe also distanced the ADC from criticisms made by David Mark's faction, accusing the National Assembly of overstepping its bounds regarding the 2027 Electoral Act. He emphasized the need for authentic grassroots engagement to rebuild the party and the nation.
