APC's Christoph Maikalangu Wins Garki Village Polling Unit

In the recent elections held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Christoph Maikalangu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), won polling unit 004 in Garki Village by a wide margin, receiving 229 votes. His nearest competitor, Paul Ogidi of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), garnered only 15 votes, while Onyebuchi Chukwu from the Progress Grand Alliance (APGA) received one vote.

The election took place on a Saturday, with voting reportedly starting late in several polling units due to logistical challenges. Despite these issues, Maikalangu expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, describing the process as smooth and efficient, with voter accreditation completed in less than three minutes.

A total of 252 voters were accredited to cast their ballots out of 287 registered voters in his polling unit. The election also saw two incumbent area council chairmen, including Abubakar Abdullahi, seeking re-election.
