Maikalangu Confident of Re-election in FCT 2026 Elections

Christoph Zakka Maikalangu, the chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), voted in the 2026 FCT elections and expressed confidence in his re-election for a second term. He highlighted the impressive voter turnout at his polling unit in Garki, stating that he was satisfied with the voting process, which took less than three minutes.

Maikalangu emphasized the importance of local government elections, noting that they are meant for the local populace, which is why turnout may differ between remote areas and cities like Garki and Nyanya. He mentioned that the electoral process was smooth and acknowledged the need for improvements in logistics.

Maikalangu also reiterated his commitment to empowering the youth and the community, stating that he would continue his programs if re-elected, aiming to enhance democracy at the local level.
