APC's Christoph Maikalangu Wins AMAC Chairmanship Election

Christoph Maikalangu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship election, having received 40,295 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed that the total number of valid votes cast was 62,861 out of 65,197 total votes.

Prof. Andrew Abu, the incumbent chairman, acknowledged the election results, which saw the APC winning against 12 other political parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 12,109 votes and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) with 3,398 votes.

The APC's agent, Gambo Babal, praised the electoral process as credible and transparent. The election results indicate a strong position for the APC as they prepare for the 2025 elections.

The total number of registered voters in AMAC was 837,338, with 65,676 voters accredited for the election.
