FCT and Finland Collaborate on Smart City Projects

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration, under the leadership of Minister Nyesom Wike, disclosed plans to collaborate with Finland on infrastructure and smart city projects during a meeting with Finland's Ambassador to Nigeria, Sanna Selin, on Tuesday. This partnership aims to enhance agricultural development and urban management in Abuja, aligning with the administration's Renew Hope Agenda.

Wike emphasized the rapid expansion of Abuja and expressed a keen interest in learning from international partner cities. The collaboration will involve support for infrastructure development, smart city technologies, and green energy initiatives.

Wike invited Finnish firms with expertise in environmental technology to engage in waste management projects, highlighting the importance of providing a safe working environment through international cooperation. Ambassador Selin noted the increasing cooperation between Finland and Nigeria, particularly in digital innovation and water waste management technologies, and expressed optimism about deploying Finnish expertise in concrete projects in Abuja.
