Wike Addresses Millennium Tower Project Delay in Abuja

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), addressed the delay in the Millennium Tower project, which remains uncompleted due to the substantial funding requirement estimated at over ₦400 billion. Wike stated that this amount is too large to be managed solely within the FCT's statutory budget.

He is currently in discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to potentially classify the Millennium Tower as a strategic national project and tourist center. During a recent inspection of key infrastructure projects in Abuja, Wike emphasized the importance of the Millennium Tower and noted that if the FCT attempted to fund it independently, it would jeopardize other projects in the capital.

He also provided updates on various infrastructure projects aimed at reducing traffic congestion and enhancing economic activity, assuring residents that the projects are on track for completion by December.
