FCT Opens Sports Association Membership to Residents

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Sports Department has announced the opening of membership for sports associations to residents, as declared by FCT Director of Sports Luka Istifanu during a conference in Abuja on Tuesday. The membership process, which is free of charge, will run from April 1 to April 30, with forms available at the National Open University Complex in Area 3.

This initiative aims to engage sports enthusiasts and stakeholders in the development of sports within the territory. The minimum requirement for membership is a First School Leaving Certificate.

Istifanu emphasized the importance of community involvement, encouraging sports writers and philanthropists to contribute to sports development in the FCT. Esther Whoba, Deputy Director of Technical Sports in the Youth Department, highlighted that financial support and mentorship from philanthropists would help nurture young talent and improve sports facilities, creating opportunities for athletes to excel at local, national, and international levels.
