FCT Police Impound 30 Vehicles for Tinted Glass Violations

The FCT Police Command commenced enforcement of regulations prohibiting the use of tinted vehicle glass, resulting in the impounding of no fewer than 30 vehicles found operating in contravention of the law. This operation was announced by the Commissioner of Police, Ahm Sanusi, during a press briefing in Abuja.

The initiative aims to address the increasing use of vehicles with tinted glass in criminal activities, including robbery, kidnapping, and violent crimes across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Inspector General of Police, Olutunji Disu, authorized the command to begin strict enforcement of the ban on tinted vehicles.

Sanusi explained that criminals often use tinted glass to conceal their number plates and avoid identification, which frustrates law enforcement efforts. The operation is part of a broader strategy to enhance security and prevent criminal operations that remain undetected.
