Yobe Police Impound 67 Vehicles Over Security Violations

The Yobe State Police Command has raised concerns over the increase in unregistered vehicles and unauthorized tinted glass, which are often exploited by criminal elements for illicit activities, including drug trafficking. In response, the command has intensified enforcement efforts, resulting in the impounding of 67 vehicles found to be in violation of traffic and security regulations across the state.

A statement issued on Thursday, signed by the command's Public Relations Officer, Dungu Abdulkarim, indicated that operations specifically target vehicles operating without valid registration and those with obscured number plates or unauthorized tinting. The command warned vehicle owners and motorists to ensure proper registration and display of authentic number plates, as well as to obtain necessary permits for tinted glass use.

Vehicles found in violation will be impounded, and offenders will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. The Commissioner of Police, Usman Kamfani Jibrin, directed area command divisions to maintain professional conduct and respect citizens' rights during these operations.
