Woman Arrested for Concealing Death at Abuja Hotel
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command arrested Mrs Rukayat Muhammed in connection with the death of a man whose body was found along Kubwa Expressway on August 26, 2026. Two staff members of Good Samaritan Guest House, Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, were also arrested for removing the body from the hotel room and disposing of it.
FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Sanusi, stated that Rukayat allegedly failed to report the man's death after discovering he was no longer breathing and instead left the hotel with his mobile phone. The deceased's family had reported him missing prior to the discovery of his body.
Investigators tracked the deceased's mobile phone, which had been switched off, and identified Rukayat as the last person he communicated with. It was revealed that Rukayat and the deceased had a romantic relationship, and she had saved his contact as "Safiyat.".
