Police Identify Suspects in Abuja Body Dumping Case

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has linked Mrs Rukayat Muhammed and two employees of the Good Samaritan Guest House to the case of a man's body found under the Katampe Bridge along the Kubwa Expressway. The body was discovered on August 26 after the man was reported missing by his family.

During a press briefing on September 26, 2026, Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Sanusi stated that initial public speculation connected the death to kidnapping and robbery, but investigators followed a different lead based on the missing persons report. The deceased's mobile phone, which had been switched off, was traced to Mrs Rukayat Muhammed of Garki Area 2, who had allegedly been in a romantic relationship with the deceased.

After checking into the guest house, she reportedly found him unresponsive but did not notify the police, instead taking his phone and leaving. Hotel staff later discovered the body, and hotel workers Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus are accused of disposing of the body under the bridge.
