FCT Police Deny Kidnapping Rumors at Abuja School

On June 4, 2026, the FCT Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh, addressed rumors of a kidnapping at Phase 1 Primary School in Gbagalape, Abuja. The police received a distress call at approximately 10:30 AM, prompting immediate action from the Nyanya Division.

Officers were dispatched to the scene, where preliminary investigations indicated that students had begun shouting "kidnap," causing panic among teachers and residents. The police cordoned off the school and conducted a thorough search, questioning individuals within and around the premises.

No kidnapping incident was established, and no suspects or victims were identified. The police patrols were extended to the surrounding areas as a precaution.

FCT Commissioner of Police Ahm Sanusi encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station and to refrain from spreading unverified information that could incite unnecessary panic.
