FCT Police Arrest 560 Suspects in Major Crime Bust

The FCT Police Command conducted a series of coordinated raids across Abuja, resulting in the arrest of 560 suspects. Commissioner Ahm Muha Sanusi disclosed this during a press briefing at the FCT Police Command headquarters.

The operation targeted identified criminal hotspots and was part of a renewed offensive against crime in the Federal Capital Territory. The raids, driven by intelligence gathered from community policing, led to the recovery of various items, including a locally fabricated pistol, an AK-47 rifle, and illicit drugs.

Notably, six members of a kidnapping and robbery syndicate were arrested, linked to the abduction of a female victim in the Maitama area, with a ransom of N8.25 million recovered. Additional operations around the Kwali, Abaji, and Kuje areas resulted in the seizure of 42 rounds of live ammunition and other illegal substances.

Sanusi reaffirmed the command's commitment to eradicating criminal elements from the FCT and urged residents to support police efforts.
