FCT Police Investigate N450,000 Bribery Allegation

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has initiated an investigation into allegations of bribery involving a request for N450,000 for the “mobilisation and petition” of a case at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The claim was made by content creator Tumma Gabriel, who shared a video on social media stating that he was asked to pay the amount while seeking police intervention in a matter.
FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, stated that the command does not tolerate any solicitation or demand for money from the public by police officers. He has directed an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the allegation and to identify any officers involved.
Any officer found guilty will face disciplinary action as per the Police Act and Regulations. The police have encouraged Gabriel to come forward with information to aid the investigation and provided a contact number for him to reach the police.
