FCT Police Arrest Officers for Alleged Extortion Case

The FCT Police Command has arrested officers depicted in a viral video allegedly extorting ₦40,000 from a resident along Wuye – Utako Road, near Salem Church, within the Federal Capital Territory. The incident prompted the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Sanusi, to take immediate action.

A press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday in Abuja, confirmed that the officers have been identified and are currently in custody. The Command has also invited the complainant to the FCT Police Command Headquarters to provide a statement that will aid in the disciplinary process against the officers involved.

CP Ahmed Sanusi reiterated the Command's zero tolerance for extortion, abuse of authority, and misconduct, stating that any officer found guilty after investigation will face appropriate disciplinary and legal actions. The Command encourages the public to report any police misconduct to ensure accountability and professionalism.
