FCT Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Suspect

On March 9, 2026, the FCT Police recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla, registered number KAB 83 BF, which had been reported stolen in Kaduna State on April 5, 2024. The vehicle was successfully traced and recovered following intelligence-led operations.

The suspect, identified as Bless Ohwobet, is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing. On March 13, 2026, during a routine stop-and-search patrol in Wuse II, Abuja, police officers attempted to flag down a dark-colored Toyota Corolla.

The driver, Abiola Yakubu, 45, attempted to evade the police and opened fire during the chase but was apprehended. A search of Yakubu revealed a locally made pistol and ammunition, leading to preliminary investigations indicating his involvement in a cult group.

Additionally, on the same day, police intercepted a motorcyclist in Gudu Area, recovering a bag containing a pistol, six rounds of live 9mm ammunition, and other weapons. The FCT Police Command, led by CP Miller G.
