Abuja Police Arrest 14 in Major Car Theft Operation

The FCT Police Command announced the arrest of 14 suspects involved in a car theft syndicate and the recovery of 17 stolen vehicles across Abuja. This operation, which took place in March 2026, was led by Commissioner Ahm Sanusi and was part of intensified intelligence-led efforts to combat vehicle theft and related crimes.

The suspects were linked to incidents of vehicle snatching at gunpoint and theft from parking locations. During the operation, police intercepted a suspicious vehicle on April 10 along a desert road in Abuja, leading to a confrontation where one suspect was injured and arrested while others fled.

Two female victims were rescued from the gang, with one alleging rape by a gang member. The suspect will be charged in court following the investigation.

Additionally, content creator Pam Joshua was arraigned for circulating misleading videos about bandit attacks in Abuja, facing charges of injuring public peace.
