ADC Candidate Alleges Intimidation in AMAC Elections

In the recent elections in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), the ADC candidate Paul alleged that intimidation and movement restrictions significantly impacted voter turnout, which he described as lower than expected. He attributed the situation to confusion arising from these restrictions.

Paul, who has been a witness to the electoral process for 40 years, expressed that the circumstances resembled those of a state of emergency, which he deemed unwarranted. Despite these challenges, he commended the electoral officials at the polling units for conducting themselves professionally and adhering to due process.

Reports indicated that ADC agents, including Takum Shara, faced threats and intimidation in areas such as Kabusa Ward, including Dogongada and Shereti. Paul described these actions as criminal acts occurring in the capital city.

Nevertheless, he remains confident that the people will prevail and resist intimidation, demanding accountability from their leadership.
