APC Leaders Highlight FCT Elections as Key Opportunity

Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda, the chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that the forthcoming area council elections present an opportunity for the party to reclaim its lost glory and consolidate its dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the campaign council in Abuja, he noted that effective political contest requires unity and coordinated grassroots mobilization across the six area councils. Yilwatda highlighted the influx of new members into the party as a sign of growing national acceptance and confidence in the APC.

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq pledged to deliver victory for the party, while Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu emphasized the importance of mobilizing the Igbo community in the FCT to ensure APC's success. Kalu, serving as the secretary of the APC National Campaign Council for the FCT polls, pointed out the significant presence of Igbo traders and investors in the region.

He assured that the campaign would focus on grassroots engagement to secure votes.
