APC's Christoph Maikalangu Wins AMAC Chairmanship Election

Christoph Maikalangu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship election, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Maikalangu received 40,295 votes out of a total of 62,861 valid votes cast, marking a significant victory over his closest rival from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who garnered 12,109 votes.

The total number of votes cast in the election was 65,197, with 65,676 voters accredited from a registered voter base of 837,338 in AMAC. Prof.

Andrew Abu, the incumbent chairman, confirmed the results, stating that the election process was credible and transparent. The APC's agent, Gambo Babal, praised the electoral process, while other party agents acknowledged the transparency of the coalition exercise.

The election featured candidates from 12 political parties, with the PDP receiving 3,398 votes. This victory positions the APC favorably for the upcoming 2025 elections.
