Southern Governors’ Forum Backs Tinubu After FCT Elections

The Southern Governors’ Forum, chaired by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, commended President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their strong performance in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area council elections held on February 21. In a statement issued from Abeokuta, Ogun State, Abiodun highlighted that the elections, which took place across six area councils, reflected a significant acceptance of the APC and Tinubu's leadership.

He congratulated Tinubu and the APC's candidate, Professor Nentaw Yilwatda, for their success, interpreting the election results as a precursor to potential victory in the 2027 general elections. Abiodun emphasized that the outcome demonstrated that Nigerians are aligned with Tinubu and the APC, indicating confidence in their ability to lead Nigeria's future.
