FCT UBEB Promotes Innovation and Problem-Solving in Education

Dr. Danlami Hayyo, the Secretary of the FCT Education Secretariat, emphasized the role of the FCT UBEB in fostering a generation of problem-solvers and innovators during the maiden edition of the Science, Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Stakeholder Meeting held in Abuja.

He noted that the world is evolving rapidly due to advancements in science and technology, necessitating a shift in educational priorities beyond basic literacy and numeracy. The initiative aims to develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, creativity, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial skills among learners.

This aligns with the current administration's renewed hope agenda, which focuses on human capital development, youth empowerment, job creation, and economic diversification. Hayyo acknowledged that achieving these goals requires coordinated efforts and partnerships among educational policymakers, parents, the private sector, and the wider community.

Additionally, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike is committed to creating an enabling environment through the renovation and rehabilitation of schools across the FCT, equipping them with essential tools and resources for innovation.
