FCT UBEB Enhances Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Education

The FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) is intensifying efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the education sector. Dr.

Danlami Hayyo, the Secretary of the FCT Education Secretariat, made this announcement during the maiden edition of the Science, Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship stakeholders' meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday. He highlighted the necessity of developing critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and entrepreneurial skills among learners to align with the present administration's human capital development agenda.

This initiative aims to prepare young learners not only to seek jobs but also to create them, thereby contributing to economic diversification and reducing unemployment. Mr.

Florence Wenegiem, the Executive Chairman of FCT UBEB, noted the strategic steps being taken to transform the education system to meet the demands of the 21st century. The focus will be on modern pedagogical skills, experiential learning, and partnerships with industry stakeholders to provide mentorship and real-world exposure for students.
