FCT Workers Begin Shutdown Over Unresolved Labor Demands

Workers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have commenced a shutdown of government offices following a joint union action by the Joint Union Action Congress (JUAC). The action stems from unaddressed labor welfare demands, such as outstanding promotions, pension contributions, and remittances to national housing funds.

Despite several meetings, the management has allegedly failed to resolve these issues, leading to the workers downing tools. The shutdown affects six area councils in the FCT and comes after a seven-day ultimatum issued by the union.
