FCTA Workers to Commence Strike in Abuja Over Unresolved Labor Issues

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) workers in Abuja are initiating a strike on January 19, 2026, following the Joint Union Action Congress' directive. The decision to shut down government offices stems from the failure to address long-standing labor welfare demands.

The strike is expected to impact FCTA secretariat, departments, agencies, and area council parastatals. Unresolved issues include outstanding promotions, pension contributions, and housing fund deductions.

Despite several meetings and a seven-day ultimatum, the FCTA management remained silent. Various key figures like Holina Adejoh and Abdullahi Saleh have confirmed the strike action.
