FCTA and FCDA Workers Begin Indefinite Strike, Close Government Offices

Workers of the FCTA and FCDA in Nigeria have initiated an indefinite strike, resulting in the shutdown of government offices across the Federal Capital Territory. The strike, organized by the Joint Union Action Congress (JUAC), was triggered by the government's alleged neglect of long-standing demands related to labor welfare issues.

The union highlighted grievances such as unpaid promotion arrears, delays in staff promotions, and non-remittance of statutory deductions. Despite several meetings with management, no tangible results were achieved, prompting the workers to take industrial action.
