FCTA Launches CBT Promotion for 13,000 Civil Servants

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commenced a computer-based test (CBT) promotion exercise for over 13,000 civil servants. This initiative was announced by Emeka Ezeh, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, following approval from the FCTA Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The promotion exercise is set to begin on July 1, 2026, and will run for ten days, covering civil servants across 150 cadre grade levels. This exercise is part of the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at ensuring eligible officers can progress within the civil service.

Ezeh disclosed that Wike directed the commission to conduct the promotion exercise by the end of the year, providing opportunities for eligible officers to advance their careers. The commission is tasked with ensuring a seamless process, addressing issues that arose in previous exercises.

The FCT Civil Service Commission became the first in Nigeria to conduct a promotion examination via computer-based testing in 2024, just six months after its inauguration in March of that year.
